Faheem Abdullah: A Multifaceted Artist from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir
Faheem Abdullah is a singer, poet, music composer, and an accomplished film director and producer hailing from the picturesque valley of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. With a Master’s degree in English Literature, Faheem has seamlessly blended his literary prowess with his passion for music and filmmaking, creating a unique artistic identity.
His first professional song, Jhelum, became a sensation in Jammu and Kashmir. The song, paired with captivating visuals, resonated deeply with audiences as it portrayed the struggles of the Kashmiri people.
Despite having no formal training in singing, Faheem’s deep love for music and years of listening to Persian, Turkish, Russian, and Indian melodies have shaped his artistic sensibilities. He proudly identifies as a genre-agnostic artist, drawing inspiration from diverse musical traditions and cultures.
Faheem’s musical journey took a significant turn when he traveled to Mumbai with his close friend Arslan Nizami. What began as a 10-day trip evolved into a life-changing chapter. On the 8th day, they met a friend who introduced them to Rohit Sopte. Impressed by Faheem and Arslan’s mesmerizing music, Rohit encouraged them to take their talents to the next level. This pivotal encounter marked the beginning of Faheem’s professional journey.

The song topped charts across South Asia, became a viral hit on YouTube, and earned a spot in over 100,000 Spotify playlists. Its success cemented Faheem’s reputation as a rising star in the global music scene.
When asked about performing for Coke Studio, Faheem expressed his willingness to take the stage if given the opportunity, reflecting his passion for sharing his music with a broader audience.
Currently, Faheem is working under a label and music management company (Artiste First) to better manage and distribute his music. With his talent, determination, and the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir as his foundation, Faheem Abdullah is poised to achieve even greater success in the future.
